Update: (Further Charges) KSP Arrests Calloway County Man on Numerous Firearms Charges

MURRAY, KY. (October 8, 2016) Information stemming from the ongoing investigation into Ray W. Powers has led to additional charges against him. Tpr. Jody Cash obtained a warrant for the arrest of Powers for the charges of Rape 1st degree (Class B Felony), Sodomy 1st degree (Class B Felony), Incest - Forcible Compulsion (Class B Felony), and Tampering with Physical Evidence (Class D Felony).

Powers was out on bond for previous charges of Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 18 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and 8 counts of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. Powers was arrested Friday, October 7, 2016 at his home by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office in relation to the new warrant.

Powers was lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing by Tpr. Jody Cash.

MURRAY, KY. (September 27, 2016) Ray W. Powers was charged today with additional charges stemming from the investigation we sent a release on yesterday. Today, Powers was charged by Senior Trooper Jody Cash with Trafficking Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Powers remains lodged in the Calloway County Jail.

KSP Arrests Calloway County Man on Numerous Firearms Charges

MURRAY, KY. (September 26, 2016) On Sunday, September 25, 2016, the Kentucky State Police arrested and charged Ray W. Powers, 48 of Murray, KY, with 18 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and 8 counts of Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon. While investigating information received by Kentucky State Police, Senior Trooper Jody Cash discovered that Powers was in possession of 18 long guns and 8 handguns, as well as body armor, other explosives paraphernalia, and a substantial amount of ammunition.

Powers was subsequently charged and lodged in the Calloway County Jail. Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon is a Class D Felony and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon is a Class C Felony.

The investigation is continuing by Senior Trooper Jody Cash.

Kentucky State Police was assisted in the investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and the Calloway County Sheriff's Office.
