Single Vehicle Injury Collision on US 641

Fredonia, KY (Caldwell County) - The Kentucky State Police is investigating a single-vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on US 641, in Fredonia, on Wednesday, March 9, at 9:24 a.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher Peek, 30, Woodlawn, TN, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on US 641 when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve on the wet roadway. The vehicle crossed the southbound lane and exited the shoulder of the roadway. It traveled down an earthen embankment and overturned. The vehicle came to rest overturned, on the driver's side.

Mr. Peek, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. His son, Christian Peek, one-year-old, was transported via ambulance to Crittenden Health Systems for treatment. His son was restrained in a child safety seat.

Trooper Ben Sawyer is investigating the collision. KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department, the Fredonia Volunteer Fire Department, the Princeton Fire Department, and Caldwell County EMS assisted at the scene.
