Central City Man Arrested After Foot Pursuit

BROWDER, Ky. (June 19, 2016) - The Kentucky State Police has arrested a Central City man after a foot pursuit.

On Sunday, June 19, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Trooper Brandon McPherson responded to a call in the 400 block of KY 70 East in Browder in Muhlenberg County. Upon Tpr. McPherson pulling into the driveway, a male subject fled on foot. Tpr. McPherson pursued the subject on foot into a wooded area. Tpr. McPherson deployed his taser in order to subdue the subject. The taser deployment was successful and the subject was taken into custody without further incident. Neither the subject nor Tpr. McPherson sustained any injuries.

The subject, identified as Bobby J. Waddell, 42, Central City, was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center on the following charges:

  1. Served Parole Violation Warrant
  2. Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
  3. Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  4. Resisting Arrest
  5. Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
  6. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
