KSP Investigate Armed Robbery

Update: On December 13, 2016, KSP Post 2 received information on the identification and location of the robbery suspect. Acting on this information, Detective Jonathan Murphy, assisted by the Todd County Sheriff Department and Guthrie Police Department, located Nicholas Alfredo Chavez Jr, 18, Elkton, at an abandoned house on West Park Street in Guthrie. Chavez was detained and after an interview with Det. Murphy, was arrested and charged with Robbery 1st Degree. Chavez was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing by Det. Murphy.

Update: KSP Detectives spoke with witnesses in the area who saw the robbery suspect running from the scene. He was described as a white male, approximately 18-20 years old, dark hair, thin mustache, wearing a green carhartt type jacket, dark jeans and a ball cap. The witnesses’ last saw him running west bound on KY-507, cutting through the yards of local residents.

Elkton, KY (December 13, 2016) – KSP are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. at the J C Monroe Grocery on Allegre Road.

Preliminary investigation shows that an unknown white male, wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans and a mask, robbed the store at gunpoint with a handgun. The unknown male then exited the store and left the area by walking toward Kirkmansville.

The investigation is ongoing with KSP Troopers and Detectives currently on scene. Updates will be released as information becomes available. KSP requests that anyone who has information on the robbery suspect to call Post 2 at 270.676.3313.
