Fall/Jump From Overpass onto Interstate 65 Results in Death in Warren County

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a report of a subject that had fell or jumped off an overpass onto Interstate 65 tonight at approx. 8:30 pm that resulted in the death of one person.

The preliminary investigation indicated that an elderly male had fell or jumped from the Cemetery Road overpass onto the inner emergency lane of southbound Interstate 65 near the 26 mile marker. Southbound Interstate 65 was shut down at this location for approx. 1 1/2 hours. The male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner's Office and a Death Investigation has been opened. No further details are available for release at this time.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Detective Wesley Medley. He was assisted on the scene by Troopers and Detectives of KSP Post 3, Warren County Sheriff's Department, Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Coroner's Office, the Medical Center EMS, and the Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department.
