Man Sought for Attempted Homicide from Pennsylvania Arrested on I-65

(Park City, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a request to attempt to locate a subject considered to be armed and dangerous that was wanted by the Windber Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania for an attempted homicide investigation in connection to the shooting of a female victim. They had information that he may be in the Elizabethtown area on Interstate 65 heading south in a 2002 Chrysler minivan. Troopers located the suspected vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the 49 mile marker southbound on I-65 in Barren County and identified the operator as the wanted subject.
Cortland Michalides (22) of Windber, PA was arrested at approx. 6:27 pm where he was charged with Fugitive From Another State in reference to the original charge in Pennsylvania of Criminal Attempt to Commit Homicide Involving a Gun and he was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
Trooper Michael Murray was the arresting officer and he was assisted by Troopers Timmy Jewell and Graham Rutherford. No other details are available for release at this time.
