Injury Collision on Interstate 65 Exit Ramp Involving a Motorcycle

(Bowling Green, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a single vehicle injury collision this morning at approx. 2:39 am on the exit ramp from Interstate 65 southbound on to the William Natcher Parkway northbound in Warren County.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Thad Franklin (37) of Bowling Green was operating a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle and was traveling southbound on Interstate 65 and was exiting on to the William Natcher Parkway northbound when he failed to negotiate the curve and struck the guardrail.

Mr. Franklin was transported from the scene by the Medical Center EMS and then flown by Air Evac helicopter to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where he is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Briston Smith. He was assisted on the scene by Troopers Storm Stevens and Graham Rutherford, Medical Center EMS, Air Evac, and the Alvaton Fire Department.
