Animals at Animal Shelter Found in Poor Conditions in Edmonson County

(Bee Springs, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a complaint on 06/04/2016 of animals that were not being taken care of properly at the Edmonson County Animal Shelter including one animal that they believed to be dead on the property.
When units arrived on scene at 188 Sanders Road in Bee Springs at the Edmonson County Animal Shelter they found 47 dogs and 17 cats in extremely poor living conditions and several of the animals appeared to be malnourished. Also located on the property were three deceased cats and one deceased dog.
The Director of the shelter, Kimberly Carroll (50) of Bee Springs, was cited and charged with Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree.
Arrangements have been made by various shelters from surrounding counties to come and transport the animals to their facilities where they will be cared for.
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Justin Rountree. He was assisted by Trooper Daniel Priddy and the Edmonson County Sheriff's Department. No other details can be released at this time.
