Confrontation Leads to Gunfire Resulting in Three Injured

(Smiths Grove, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was requested to investigate a shooting that the Barren County Sheriff's Department responded to tonight at approx. 5:10 pm in the 1100 block of Boatman Road in Barren County that resulted in three subjects being shot.
The preliminary investigation indicated that three adult male subjects got into a confrontation with each other outside a residence in the 1100 block of Boatman Road which escalated into gunfire that resulted in all three individuals being shot. Two of the subjects then left the scene and went to another residence down the road where they waited for emergency responders.
All three subjects were transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where two were treated for non-life threatening injuries and the other male was transferred to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where his condition is unknown at this time.
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Detective Josh Amos. He was assisted on the scene by Troopers and Detectives of KSP Post 3 Bowling Green, Barren County Sheriff's Department, Barren-Metcalfe County EMS, and the South Barren Volunteer Fire Department. No other information is available for release at this time.
