Felony Arrest After Violator Attempted to Elude

Glasgow, KY (October 10, 2016) - Master Trooper Lonnie Hodges was traveling westbound on the Louie B Nunn Parkway in Barren County today at approx. 12:08 pm when he observed an eastbound 2007 Scion passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed, which he clocked at 99 mph. Trooper Hodges then activated his emergency equipment and crossed the median to initiate a traffic stop when the operator of the vehicle accelerated to a speed of 110 mph and exited off the parkway onto Veteran's Outer Loop. He then turned left onto KY 1297 without stopping, into the path of a semi. The violator continued on KY 1297 at a high rate of speed disregarding Trooper Hodges' blue lights until he had gotten inside the limits of Glasgow, where he eventually pulled over and stopped.
Elicer Rodriquez Juarez (18) of LaVergne, TN was then taken into custody without incident and placed under arrest. It was also discovered that there was a 4 month old female not properly restrained in the vehicle.
Rodriquez Juarez was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center and charged with:
- Speeding 26 mph > Over the Speed Limit
- Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
- Reckless Driving
- Failure to Use Child Restraint Device in Motor Vehicle
- Failure to Wear Seat Belt
- Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance, 1st Offense
- No Operators License
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Master Trooper Lonnie Hodges. No other information is available for release at this time.
