One Killed in Two Vehicle Collision on KY 1039

Warsaw, Ky. (October 21, 2016) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision on KY 1039 in Gallatin County. On October 20th, 2016 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Dispatchers with Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from Gallatin County Dispatch for assistance with a fatal collision.
Preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lane of KY 1039 struck a vehicle traveling south in the southbound lane.
The operator of the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction was transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital by Gallatin County EMS with serious injuries. Jeanette Ridner, 42 of Vevay Indiana, was the operator of the second vehicle and was transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced deceased by the Carroll County Coroner. A 13 year old passenger in the second vehicle was transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital by Gallatin County EMS with minor injuries.
Troopers on scene were assisted by Gallatin County EMS, the Carroll County Coroners Officer, Warsaw Police Department, Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, and the Switzerland County Indiana Sheriff's Office.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
