Dry Ridge, Ky. (October 24, 2016) — The Paris Police Officer involved was Patrolman Abdullah Bholat, a five year veteran of the Paris Police Department. He is currently on administrative leave per Paris Police Policy.

Dry Ridge, Ky. (October 19, 2016) — On October 18, 2016, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Kentucky State Police from Dry Ridge assisted the Paris Police Department with an investigation. Units arrived at 1919 Brent Street to speak with a Mr. Charles Stidham (34), of Paris. Officers entered the residence and were shot at by Mr. Stidham, A Paris Police Officer was struck one time in the abdomen area of his bullet resistant vest. No life threatening injuries were sustained by the officer. Officers were able to evacuate the residence and established a perimeter. Communications were established with Mr. Stidham throughout night. Mr. Stidham continued to fire his weapon through the windows at the officers. After an exchange of gun fire, Mr. Stidham was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bourbon County Coroner's Office. At this time, the officer's name is not being released. This incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police. Agencies on scene were Kentucky State Police, Kentucky State Police Special Response Team, Paris Police Department, Bourbon County Sheriff's Office, Bourbon/Paris EMS, Paris Fire Department, Lexington Police Department, and Bourbon County Coroner's Office.
