Mercer County Juvenile Charged with Murder and Robbery following Investigation

(Harrodsburg, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post has charged a juvenile from Harrodsburg with Murder and Robbery 1st Degree as a result of an ongoing investigation. The investigation alleges that the juvenile took personal property and fatally shot Tristan Cole, during the evening hours of Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Frank Thornberry, who was assisted by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office and KSP Personnel.

KSP Conducts Murder Investigation in Mercer County

Date of News Release: 04/12/2016

(Harrodsburg, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was notified by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office just before 10:00 p.m. last night, after a deceased body was found off of Deep Creek Road, west of Harrodsburg in rural Mercer County.

The initial investigation indicates that Tristan Cole, 17 years old of Harrodsburg was fatally shot and left at the scene before being found before 9:00 p.m. last night. Cole was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Mercer County Coroner, and has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. The events that led to the shooting are under investigation and there have not been any arrests made.
