DUI Injury Collision in Elliott County

(Sandy Hook, KY) - On Sunday, May 08, 2016 at 8:22 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 8 was notified by Elliott County Dispatch of an injury accident on KY 7 North in Sandy Hook. Trooper Derrek Lovett, Elliott County EMS and Sandy Hook Fire Department responded to the scene. After investigation it was determined that, Kodi Stamper, 23 years old of Sandy Hook, had been traveling south on KY 7 when he lost control of his 2004 Chevy Silverado, crossed the northbound lane, left the roadway struck a tree and collided with an unoccupied residence. Mr. Stamper was air-lifted to St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV, where he is listed in stable condition. Mr. Stamper has been cited for DUI 1st Offense. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Lovett.
