Fatality Collision in Rowan County

Morehead, Ky. (September 2, 2016) - On Friday September 2, 2016 at 3:16 PM Kentucky State Police Morehead received information about a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle near the 133 mile marker on Interstate 64 in Rowan County.

Upon arrival it was determined that Jeremy Mynhier, 38, of Clearfield was traveling westbound on I-64 in his SUV when he exited the 133 off ramp and struck Jerry D Thatcher, 60, of Morehead who was beside his motorcycle. Mr. Thatcher was pronounced dead at the scene by Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt. Mr. Mynhier and his passenger Kimberly Johnson, 39, of Morehead were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center for treatment. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Zalone.
