KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Pike County

KIMPER, KY (November 30, 2016) – Kentucky State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Pike County during the morning hours of Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Jerry Leedy was traveling West on KY Route 194E in the Kimper community of Pike County. Leedy lost control of his Ford F-150 pick-up, crossed into the East bound lane, and collided with a commercial vehicle owned by NJL Trucking. Leedy, 24 of Kimper, and one passenger were both transported from the scene to Pikeville Medical Center before being flown to UK Medical Center. Jerry Leedy succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on November 30, 2016 at UK Medical Center.
Evidence at the scene indicates Leedy was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Region 6 CVE Officer, Brad Bond.
