Appalachia Narcotics Investigations Arrests Man for Bribing a Witness

Pineville, KY (February 6, 2017) – Sam Gambrel (40) was indicted by detectives from Appalachia Narcotics Investigations on several drug trafficking charges in 2016. After his indictment it was discovered that Mr. Gambrel had been contacting people who would be testifying against him in court proceedings and offering them money to not show up for court. Detectives with ANI obtained warrants on Mr. Gambrel for Bribing a Witness. On February 6, 2017 Sam Gambrel was arrested by Deputies from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department for DUI. At that time, detectives with Appalachia Narcotics Investigations served the warrant for Bribing a Witness.

Appalachia Narcotics Investigations is a multi-agency drug investigations unit consisting of detectives from the Kentucky State Police, Bell County Sheriff's Office, Harlan County Sheriff’s Office and Pineville Police Department.
