Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland Investigating Fatal House Fire

Ashland, KY (April 12, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland is investigating a house fire which resulted in a fatality. On Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 07:35 a.m. Lawrence County 911 contacted Post 14 and requested assistance with a residential house fire at 8462 Yellow Creek Road in Louisa, KY.
Detectives responded to the scene and determined one person had died as a result of the fire. The deceased is believed to be a 48 year of age male, but positive identification has not been made at this time.
At this time the investigation is ongoing, but foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is pending and will be conducted in Frankfort, KY.

Multiple agencies responded and assisted with the investigation: State Fire Marshall, Inez Fire Department, Cherryville Fire Department, Netcare EMS, Lawrence County Emergency Management and the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation by Detectives Sam Lawson and Jason Greene.
