Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland Arrest Rockholds, KY Resident on Multiple Felony Charges

Ashland, KY (May 16, 2017) – On Sunday May 14, 2017 the Kentucky State Police Post 14 received a complaint at 9 Griffith Branch Road in Lawrence County of a prowler near the residence. The caller also reported he had located several items on his property, which did not belong to him.

Trooper Forest Newsome responded and began an investigation. During the course of the investigation he was able to locate the rightful property owner and return the stolen items. While conducting a neighborhood canvas information and additional evidence was obtained which led to the arrest of Keith Allan Hammons.

Keith Allan Hammons, age 50, of Rockholds, KY was arrested on May 14, 2017, lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and charged with the following:

Burglary 1st Degree
Giving Officer False Name or Address
(Execution of Knox County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
  • Assault 3rd Degree-Police Officer or Probation officer
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. .08 (Aggravating Circumstances)
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st degree (On Foot)
  • Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Persistent Felony Offender

  • Theft by Unlawful Taking $500 or More but under $10,000
  • Persistent Felony Offender
