Arrest Made for Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Cocaine and Methamphetamine)

HENDERSON, KY (January 29, 2017) – On January 28th at approximately 1940 HRS, Post 16 dispatch received a call from an ABC agent working undercover at a Henderson County liquor store stating that a subject was in the drive thru trying to purchase alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated. Trooper Joseph Hensley was dispatched to the scene and upon his arrival made contact with Kimball Armstead. After making contact with Armstead, Trooper Hensley could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Armstead. Trooper Hensley then had Armstead exit his vehicle and ran him through Standard Field Sobriety Tests. Armstead was then placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. After Trooper Hensley placed Armstead under arrest and began searching Armstead, he found a cigarette box containing 2 baggies of suspected cocaine and 1 baggie of suspected methamphetamine. Armstead was then taken to the Henderson County Detention Center where he was charged with (1)No Operators License (2)Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (3)Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine) (4)Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine).
