Kentucky State Police Investigating Fatal UTV Crash

Date of News Release: 7/31/2017

CADIZ, Ky. (July 29, 2017) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a Friday afternoon Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) crash in Trigg County that claimed the life of Tennessee woman. At approximately 7:45 p.m., KSP Post 1 received a request for a trooper to investigate a fatal collision on Monarch Street in Cadiz.

Preliminary investigation has shown Jamie B. Hodges, age 34 of Cottontown, Tennessee, was operating a 2016 Honda Pioneer UTV and, for an unknown reason, lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle overturned during the collision. There were two other people on the UTV, but they did not require medical attention.

Trigg County Coroner pronounced Ms. Hodges dead at the scene. Hodges was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt at the time of the collision and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.

KSP was assisted on the scene by Trigg County Sheriff Department, Trigg County Fire/Rescue, Trigg County EMS, and Trigg County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Eric West. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
