KSP Post 2 Welcomes New Post Commander

Hopkinsville, KY.(August 1, 2017) – On August 1, 2017, the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville welcomed Harrison County native Timothy “Tim” Adams as its new commander. He began his career at the Bowling Green Post in 2004 as a member of Cadet Class 82. Adams is a 14-year veteran of the KSP and has held several assignments within the agency:

  • 2004 – 2008 Trooper, Post 3 Bowling Green
  • 2008 - 2012 Detective, Post 3 Bowling Green
  • 2012 - 2013 Sergeant, Post 4 Elizabethtown
  • 2013 - 2014 Detective Sergeant/ Squad Sergeant, Post 3 Bowling Green
  • 2014 - 2017 Operations Lieutenant, Post 3 Bowling Green

Captain Adams stated, “I am honored and privileged to serve the Madisonville Post as its new Commander. I am looking forward to meeting the citizens and fellow law enforcement officers of my new district. It is the agency’s mission to respond to the public’s needs, and to partner with other law enforcement agencies to better serve our respective communities.”

Headquartered along the Western Kentucky Parkway, the Madisonville Post serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.

KSP has a toll-free number (1-800-222-5555) that citizens can call to confidentially report impaired drivers or criminal activity. They can also download the free KSP mobile phone app. The app provides quick, direct access to KSP including weather, road and traffic information as well as text, voice and photo tip capabilities to report criminal behavior. The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android applications and can be easily downloaded free of charge through Apple and Google Play stores.
