Injury Collision on Neisz Rd - One Life Flighted to Deaconess

Dawson Springs, KY (October 25th, 2017) – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a one vehicle, injury-collision that occurred on Neisz Rd, on Wednesday, October, 25th 2017, at approximately 6:43p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed David Carter, 22, Dawson Springs KY, was operating a 1996 Lincoln Town car traveling west bound on Neisz Rd. A deer ran out onto the roadway and Mr. Carter struck the deer. After striking the deer Mr. Carter overcorrected his vehicle striking an embankment causing the vehicle to overturn.

Mr. Carter was transported via life flight by PHI-Air Medical to St. Vincent Hospital due to his injuries. The passenger, Justin Sherman, 24, Dawson Springs KY, was transported by Med Center ambulance service to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville due to his injuries. Neither occupants were wearing their seatbelts

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Med Center EMS, PHI-Air Medical, Caldwell County EMS, Charleston Fire Department, Princeton Fire Department, and Dawson Springs Police Department.
