KSP Investigating Escapee from a Campbell County Detention Center Work Detail

Dry Ridge, KY - The Kentucky State Police received a complaint on June 29, 2017. At approximately 2:00 P.M., inmate Derek Gullion walked away from a work detail in Campbell County. Mr. Gullion is currently serving time for Burglary, but was granted a work detail from Campbell County Detention Center. While being supervised by a civilian supervisor, Mr. Gullion left his equipment and walked away from his work near the intersection of 4th and Kenton, in Dayton, KY. Mr. Gullion is a resident of Latonia and has relatives and friends in Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties. He was last seen wearing an orange pullover shirt from the Campbell County Detention Center. Mr. Gullion was also wearing jeans and tennis shoes. Mr. Gullion has several tattoos on both of his forearms (left-half sleeve with a ship on it and both forearms have an X on them), across his knuckles (HOOLIGAN), and on his chest, (As You Wish verbiage and a locked rib cage around a heart), on his stomach(Failure by Design), on his right calf ( a pumpkin with 10-31-2005) and feet. Mr. Gullion is a 29 year old White male, 5’9”, 180lbs with blue eyes and black hair.
Anyone with information into the whereabouts of Derek Gullion is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police or their local Police Agency.
The investigation is ongoing and assigned Trooper Charles Loudermilk.
