KSP Investigates Wolfe County Shooting - Campton Man Arrested

Campton, Ky. (April 22, 2017) – On Friday April 21st, 2017, at approximately 6:32 PM Kentucky State Police in Morehead respond to 1741 calaboose Rocky Branch Road near Campton, to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival it was determined that Darrell Terrill, 58 years of age, of Campton, had shot John Brashers, 26 years of age, of Campton, in the leg during a verbal altercation. As the altercation escalated, Mr. Terrill drew his .38 revolver and shot twice at Mr. Brashers, striking him once in the leg. Darrell Terrill was arrested on scene and charged with Assault, 1st degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Mr. Terrill has been lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. John Brashers was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, by Wolfe county WMS, where he was treated for the gunshot wound to his leg. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Logan Gay.
