KSP Academy has New Commander

Date of News Release: 08/20/2012

(Frankfort, Ky.) -- On August 16, 2012 Captain David P. Jude, a native of Ashland and resident of Paris, was transferred from the Public Affairs Branch to the Academy Branch as commander. Jude will serve in a dual role by administering daily operations for incoming cadet classes at KSP Headquarters while also overseeing the Academy renovation project, a multi-facility venue located on 320 acres off of Coffee Tree road in Frankfort.

"Taking the lead role in the development of an applicant with KSP and molding them into the Trooper that we want and need across our state is a great responsibility," says Jude. "I have a sincere passion for this role and commit that we will continue to develop the men and women that join our ranks and serve in our communities."

"Managing the renovation of this much needed facility is a definite challenge. The very purpose of this project will further our core mission - the development of our most vital asset, our people."

"Because of the pride I have in this agency and those that work for it, being involved in a project such as this, is something I will cherish for years to come," adds Jude.

Jude is a thirteen year veteran of KSP and his assignments included the Dry Ridge Post, KSP Academy and the Public Affairs Branch. Prior to KSP, he served five years with Lexington Police Department. He resides in Bourbon County with his wife Stacy and daughter Rachel. He is the son of retired Trooper T.R. Jude and wife Hazel, who also reside in Bourbon County.
