Foot Pursuit & Arrest in Laurel County

(London, KY) -- On Wednesday December 15th 2011 around 1AM Sgt. Greg Reams with the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a commercial vehicle located at the intersection of US25 an KY 192 in Laurel County Kentucky.
During the investigative traffic stop, Reams learned that the operator 32 year old Douglas Lord of Camden Tennessee was wanted for cold checks from The State Of Tennessee, as well as Failure to Appear in Gallatin Co Kentucky.
Upon attempting to arrest Lord, a short struggle and foot pursuit occurred at which time Sgt. Reams deployed a single cycle from his X26 issued taser. Lord immediately became compliant with officer commands and was taken into custody with out further incident.
Lord was charged with numerous commercial vehicle violations as well as resisting arrest and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd (On Foot). Sgt. Reams continues the investigation.
