Trooper Island News Release

Fishing Pro J.W. "Coop" Moreno visits Trooper Island Camp

Date of News Release: 08/08/2011

(Albany, Ky.) -- J.W. "Coop" Moreno of Clinton, Tennessee professional fisherman on the FLW tournament series spent time with campers at Trooper Island this summer. Twice he attended camp visiting campers from Hazard, Pikeville, Campbellsburg and Frankfort post areas. While here he gave a fishing presentation to the campers along with attending the fishing classes where he gave instructions to the campers on how to fish with both live and artificial baits. JW was a camper 28 years ago and remembered his experiences at Trooper Island and this was his way of giving back by having a chance to talk to campers about his experience and giving them some fishing tips. Prior to becoming a Professional Fisherman JW was a rodeo cowboy until an injury forced him to retire at which time he then began to work on his career as a professional fisherman. When he is not fishing in tournaments JW teaches angler classes, conducts bass seminars and has a guide service based in Clinton, Tennessee. This year J.W. has given Trooper Island Camp a spot on his boat as a sponsor and has offered to donate 10% of his winnings beginning in 2012 back to Trooper Island. If you would like to schedule a guided fishing trip or would like further information on contacting him or events which he has scheduled you can visit his web site at http://fishwithjw.com.
