Trooper Island News ReleaseVersailles Man Wins Trooper Island Motorcycle Raffle
Date of News Release: 09/13/2005
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2005) - Fortune smiled on a Versailles man when his ticket was drawn out of more than 11,000 purchased statewide to win the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Island Harley-Davidson Raffle.
Cliff E. Lainhart, who works for Woodford Feed Company, said he and two co-workers purchased tickets at the same time from KSP officers while they were in Lexington reapplying for hazardous materials driver licenses.
Lainhart said it had been many years since he'd owned a motorcycle but he was yearning to have one again. "I was in the market for a motorcycle. When I got the call that I'd won, I asked if she (KSP Media Relations Branch Capt. Lisa Rudzinski) was kidding," said Lainhart.
Lainhart's 2005 Harley-Davidson® FLSTF/FLSTFI Fat Boy® motorcycle has a 1450cc twin-cam engine with chrome covers and solid disc front- and rear-wheel brakes. It includes hardtail styling with hidden horizontal shocks, a large tank-mounted speedometer and electronic sequential port fuel injection.
The Harley-Davidson® Motorcycle raffle benefits Trooper Island Inc., a KSP-operated, non-profit camp for disadvantaged children.
Anyone that would like further information or would like to make a donation to Trooper Island can visit the Trooper Island web site at www.kentuckystatepolice.org/text/trooperisle.htm or by contacting your local Public Affairs Officer at any of the Kentucky State Police Posts across the state.
