Fatal Crash on KY 2 in Carter County

Date of News Release: 05/22/2007

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a single vehicle fatality that occurred on KY 2 just inside the city limits of Olive Hill. Wallace Adkins was travelling Southbound on KY 2 when lost control of his vehicle. Mr. Adkins dropped off the shoulder of the roadway and overturned onto an embankment. Mr. Adkins was ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carter County Coroner's office. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision and Adkins was not wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by Trooper Jim Ryland.
