Three Men Arrested in Greenup County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police are continuing their investigation following the arrest of three men Tuesday night for multiple offenses. Trooper Matt Girdwood was on routine patrol on KY 67 (Industrial Parkway) near Horn Hollow when he spotted a vehicle parked alongside a vacant parking lot, which appeared suspicious. Trooper Girdwood turned on the vehicle and that is when the vehicle sped away. After Trooper Girdwood stopped the vehicle, he discovered marijuana in the vehicle, which resulted in a search of the vehicle. There were several items in the vehicle, which led authorities to believe these men had been involved with a theft to include the discovery of tools used in burglaries.
Aaron Clement provided a false name to Trooper Girdwood upon arrest but Trooper Girdwood later discovered his real identity.
Aaron Clement was arrested and charged with Giving Officer False Name / Address; Operating Motor Vehicle on Suspended License; No registration Receipt; No Insurance; Possession of Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of Burglary Tools; License to Be in Possession.
Rocky J. Salyer & Melvin McDaniel Jr were arrested and charged with Possession of Burglar Tools.
All thress suspects were lodged into the Greenup County Detention Center.
The investigation continues by Trooper Matt Girdwood.
