Two killed in a single vehicle collision

(London, Ky.) -- On June 29, 2011 at approximately 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 150 & KY 70, 3 miles west of Mt. Vernon in Rockcastle, KY, there was a single vehicle fatal collision. The collision involved a 1997 Dodge Ram pick-up truck driven by 43 year old Lagina Snow of Stanford, KY. Lagina Snow was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Rockcastle County Coroner. A female passenger, 39 year old Tammy Griffin of Lancaster, KY was also ejected from the vehicle. Tammy Griffin was also pronounced dead at the scene. According to witness statements a male subject was in the vehicle at the time of the collision, but he left the scene prior to any first responder's arrival. Currently he remains unidentified. It is unknown as to the extent of his injuries.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Darren Allen is continuing the investigation. Assisting at the scene was KSP Trooper Richie Baxter and the Rockcastle Sheriff's Department, and Brodhead Fire Department.
