One dies in collision on KY 687 in Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) –- On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at approximately 5:11 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a single vehicle traffic crash on KY 687 in Clay County.

Upon arrival Trooper Jeff Senters determined that a 2000, Chevrolet, S-10, pickup truck, operated by Edward L. Brumley, 24, of Garrard was traveling eastbound on KY 687 when it went out of control in a curve, on the rain saturated roadway, and struck a utility pole.

Mr. Brumley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital, by EMS, and transfered to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington for treatment.

On Friday, November 18, 2011 at approximately 9:45 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, was contacted by the Fayete County Coroners Office and informed that Mr. Brumley was pronounced dead at 6:27 PM on November 18, 2011 from the injuries sustained in the crash.

Drug usage is suspected.

Trooper Senters is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by the Clay County Sheriff's Department, Clay County EMS and the Hacker Fire Department.
