Rowan County Death Investigation

Date of News Release: 06/10/2012

(Morehead, KY) -- On June 9, 2012, at 10.38 p.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 8, Morehead received a complaint of a missing person in Rowan County. Michael F. Padula, age 53 of Morehead, had went fishing in the North Fork of Triplett Creek near the Cranston community and had not returned home. Mr. Padula's vehicle and dog were later found off Old Sportsman road near a local fishing access. After a search of the area Michael F. Padula's body was found on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 5:08 a.m. by Rowan County Search and Rescue. Michael F. Padula appeared to have been fishing and accidentally drown. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Wathen.
