Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) – On Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at approximately 5:40 P.M., Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Ford Taurus on Jacksontown Road in Drakesboro. As Trooper Crick approached the vehicle, he observed a passenger throw something from the passenger’s side window.
Through further investigation, Trooper Crick discovered the object to be drug paraphernalia. The passenger who threw the paraphernalia, identified as Scott Aders, 31, of Drakesboro, was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, and had an active bench warrant issued for his arrest.
Scott Aders was arrested and charged with Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess, Possession Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Mr. Aders was also served his bench warrant.
Another passenger in the vehicle was identified as James Gunn, 27, of Central City, after originally giving Trooper Crick false identifying information. Mr. Gunn had several bench warrants issued for his arrest. Mr. Gunn was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication- Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol) and Giving Officer False Identifying Information. Mr. Gunn was also served his bench warrants.
Scott Aders and James Gunn were both lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center. The operator of the vehicle, Sara English, 37, of Central City, was given a courtesy notice for traffic violations.
HICKMAN CITY, Ky. (March 3 , 2018) – At approximately 5:00 a.m., Hickman City Police Officer Rodney S. Smith, age 45, of Boaz, Kentucky, was located in the flooded field directly off Bernal Avenue in Hickman City. The police cruiser Mr. Smith had been driving was also located.
HICKMAN CITY, Ky. (March 3, 2018) – The Kentucky State Police, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky Division of Emergency Management are on Bernal Avenue in reference to a missing Hickman Police Officer. At approximately 9:15 p.m., KSP received notification that a Hickman City Police Officer was possibly missing in a flooded field on Bernal Avenue in Hickman City.
Update 3 (February 24, 2018 5:30pm) The individual involved in the shooting has been identified as Brad A Williams, 41 years old, from Elsmere, KY.
Update 2 (February 24, 2018, 11:30am) At approximately 5:29 am, Covington Police Officers were dispatched to 4516 Decoursey Ave in reference to a person that had supposedly been shot.
Update (February 24, 2018 10:43am) One person involved has been taken to UC Medical Center and his condition is unknown at this time.
Covington, KY (February 24, 2018) — Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 6, Dry Ridge, and the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team are out at 4516 Decoursey Ave in Covington, KY investigating an officer involved shooting.
