William Randolph was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
MARTIN, Ky. (February 14, 2019) — On February 13, 2019, at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested William G. Randolph, 28, on a charge related to unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or prohibited activities.
Randolph was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect had been communicating with a minor online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Martin on February 13, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Randolph is currently charged with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor. This charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison.
