Leon Barr was lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
Brandenburg, Ky. (June 7, 2019) — On June 7, 2019, at approximately 2:53 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Leon G. Barr, 28, on charges related to child sexual exploitation.
Barr was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect communicating with a juvenile online to include the exchange of illegal files and conversation and meeting the juvenile for illegal sexual acts.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a knock and talk at a residence in Brandenburg on June 7, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Barr is currently charged with one count of prohibited use of electronic means to procure a minor, seven counts of Rape 3rd, and thirteen counts of sodomy 3rd degree. Each charge is a Class-D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. Barr was lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
