Sonora, KY (November 30, 2017) Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle injury collision on Interstate 65, near Sonora today around 8:07 a.m. EST.
Preliminary investigations indicate that 31-year old Manley Bowen of Guntersville, AL was operating a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck and trailer traveling South on Interstate 65 near Sonora. Bowen said he looked down at his dash causing him to run off the right side of the road. The steel coil he was loaded with shifted causing the vehicle to overturn resulting in the southbound lanes of the interstate to be closed for several hours.
Bowen was wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by the Hardin County EMS with non-life threatening injuries.
Officer Nick Pruitt is investigating and was assisted by KSP Post 4, Hardin County EMS and Sonora Fire Department.
