Marshall County Native Promoted to KSP Colonel
FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 27, 2020) — Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rodney Brewer announced the promotion of Captain Kyle J. Nall to Lieutenant Colonel, who will serve as Executive Director of the Office of Administrative Services. Effective April 16, 2020, Nall assumed responsibility for the Operational and Professional Support Troops.
The Operational Support Troop includes KSP Public Affairs, Strategic Planning, Driver Testing, Legislative Security, Facility Security, Finance/Grant Management and the Inspections Branches.
The Professional Support Troop includes the Academy, Internal Affairs, Supply, Recruitment and Property Management Branches.
KSP Commissioner Rodney Brewer says Nall brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to his current executive level staff.
“Kyle’s insight and systematic approach to complex problems that our agency routinely faces will be a great addition to my team,” says Brewer. “His background in operations and training will be invaluable as we move the agency forward.”
After serving the majority of his adult life with KSP, Nall is enthusiastic about this new career prospect.
“While I know many challenges accompany this appointment, I am excited at the opportunity to serve those who serve others,” says Nall.
An 18-year veteran of the agency, Nall has served KSP in many roles including: Telecommunicator, Trooper, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Academy Commander, and Post Commander. He is also a Criminal Justice Instructor and serves on the Criminal Justice Advisory Board for Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
A native of Marshall County, Nall is a graduate of Graves County High School and holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky Community and Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University. He is currently enrolled at Indiana Tech and scheduled to graduate with a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership in December of 2020.
He is the son of Michael and Deborah Nall of Wingo, Ky. and is a Deacon at the Wingo Old Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
