LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 11, 2018) — On May 10, 2018, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Darren R. Ringenberg, 23, on a charges relating to possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Ringenberg was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect was uploading sexually explicit images online.

Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Ringenberg is currently charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. He was lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. Additional charges are expected.
