Mayfield, KY. (October 28, 2021) – On October 27, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman joined Kentucky State Police (KSP) to recognize the promotion of 26 troopers and officers who were promoted since May 1, 2021 including one lieutenant colonel, one major, four captains, four lieutenants and 16 sergeants who were commissioned with a mission of creating a better Kentucky through public safety efforts and service to all Kentuckians.
During the ceremony, KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett, Jr. challenged troopers and officers to strive for excellence. “It’s an incredible responsibility. You’ve earned it, but now you have to keep earning it, each and every day. I have every confidence that you will do just that, never allowing anything to tarnish the accomplishments you have worked so hard to achieve.”
Post 1 area promotions include:
Lieutenant Joey A. Adams was promoted to captain and is assigned to the Forensic Branch.
Trooper David K. Dick was promoted to sergeant and is assigned to Post 1 Mayfield.
In regards to these promotions, Captain David Archer, the Commander of KSP, Post 1 remarked, “It has been an honor to serve beside both Captain Adams and Sergeant Dick in their prior roles with the agency. They have been leaders at our Post and within the agency long before being formally tapped to the supervisory ranks. Captain Adams continues an already accomplished career with multiple assignments as he promotes to the rank of captain. Sergeant Dick brings years of experience as a uniform trooper and seasoned detective to his new role as a front-line leader. I look forward to both men continuing the agency’s legacy of excellence and service as they assume their new roles.”
