Mayfield, Ky. (March 10, 2022) – On March 9, 2020 Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 Public Safety Telecommunication (PST) Supervisor Brandon Crews was recognized by the Kentucky Emergency Management Association, along with other first responders, for their efforts in the overall success of the emergency response deployment during the December 10th tornado. PST Supervisor Crews was on duty as the tornado entered into the Post 1 District and was instrumental in orchestrating emergency response for the multiple departments that were deployed. Within the first 24 hours of the tornado devastating the area, Post 1 processed well over 3,000 emergency calls for service from local counties affected. Public Safety Telecommunication Manager Gary Fraser said about Crews, “Supervisor Crews’ leadership and ability to be the calm voice in the storm embodies the truest definition of a Kentucky State Police Telecommunicator.” Fraser continues, “We are honored that Crews represented the Post 1 family so well during this traumatic event. Crews is an asset to the agency as whole.”
