ASHLAND, Ky. (June 20, 2023) –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has been requested by the Boyd County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) and Catlettsburg Police Department (CPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 8:27 p.m. EDT on June 18 in Boyd County, Ky.

At the request of BCSO and CPD, the Kentucky State Police Post 14 arrived on the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

No officers or members of the public were injured.

KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies. KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation.
