ASHLAND, Ky. (June 30, 2023) – On March 3, 2023, The Kentucky State Police was called to investigate a in custody death that had occurred with the Ashland Police Department.  After an investigation was completed, it was then presented to the Boyd County Grand Jury on June 27, 2023.  A report was issued by the grand jury that no criminal charges were to be filed.  Mr. Wilkerson’s cause of death as determined by the Kentucky Medical Examiner and Boyd County Coroner’s Office, was ruled to be accidental due to acute methamphetamine intoxication.
