Greenille, KY (Muhlenberg County) – On Thursday, January 27, 2022, around 2:32 PM, the Kentucky State Police Post 2, Madisonville, was requested to investigate a collision on KY-181 South.

Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2002 Chevrolet pickup operated by James R. Brown, age 51,  of Greenville, KY was traveling Northbound on KY-181. For an unknown reason his vehicle crossed the center line and exited the Western shoulder of the roadway striking an earth embankment.  His vehicle then became airborne, struck a utility pole and began to overturn before coming to final rest upside down. Mr. Brown was not wearing a seatbelt and during the collision he was ejected from his vehicle.  He was transported by ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The collision is being investigated by Trooper Patrick Penrod.
