Chalybeate, Ky. (November 18, 2022) – On Thursday, November 17, 2022, around 5:00 p.m., Kentucky State Police was requested by the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of a woman in the Chalybeate area.  Troopers responded to the scene located at 4089 Chalybeate Road in Edmonson County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Texie Colley, 94, was burning leaves at her residence.  When first responders arrived she was located deceased in her yard. No foul play is suspected. An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiners Office in Louisville.

The investigation continues and is being led by Trooper Wesley Thompson.  He was assisted at the scene by the Edmonson County Coroners Office, Edmonson County EMS, Chalybeate Fire Department, Edmonson County Emergency Management.
