Franklin, KY ( February 13, 2019)- On Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 10:00 PM (CST) the Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call for service in reference to a single vehicle injury collision. The collision had occurred near the 8 mile marker of Interstate 65 northbound. Trooper Jonathan Johnson responded to the collision, along with other KSP personnel.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that Douglas L. Wallace (67) of New Albany, IN was operating a 2000 model Miller Transportation charter bus when a pedestrian and dog entered the northbound lane of travel. The pedestrian, identified as Penny K. Lane (38) of Cross Plains, TN, and dog crossed into the direct path of travel of Wallace, and were struck by the bus.
Penny Lane was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no injuries to Wallace or the 19 passengers aboard the bus.
The investigation continues and is currently being led by Trooper Jonathan Johnson. Trooper Johnson was assisted on scene by Simpson County EMS other KSP personnel. No further information is available for release at this time.
