Scottsville, KY (May 27, 2018)- The Kentucky State Police Post 3, Bowling Green received a call of a two vehicle injury collision involving a commercial vehicle, at 9:09 PM this evening.
The collision had occurred at the intersection of New Gallatin Road (KY 231) and Franklin Road (KY 100.) Post 3 Troopers and Commercial Vehicle Officers responded to the scene.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Danny Harless (51) of Bethpage, TN was operating a 2000 GMC pickup while traveling westbound on Franklin Road, when according to witnesses, he failed to yield the right of way at a traffic control signal, crossing into the path of a commercial vehicle, a 2012 Kenworth semi-truck, which was occupied by Delvin L. Brown (27) of Ranseur, NC that was traveling north on Gallatin Road. Brown’s vehicle had the right of way due to a green light traffic control device, and continued into the intersection striking Harless’ vehicle in the driver side door. Both vehicles came to final rest on Gallatin Road.
Danny Harless was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, and was pronounced deceased on scene by the Allen County Coroner. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by Trooper Daniel Priddy. He was assisted on the scene by Scottsville Fire Department, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Allen County EMS, and other KSP Troopers. No further information is available for release at this time.
