Cave City, Ky. (May 8, 2023) – On Sunday, May 7th, 2023 just after 1:00 a.m., Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green was requested by the Cave City Police Department to investigate a fatal collision in Barren County. Troopers responded to the scene of the collision located on South Dixie Highway in the limits of Cave City.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Rogerick Fields, 37, of Glasgow, was operating a 2005 Mitsubishi SUV southbound on South Dixie Highway. A pedestrian, Paul Fields, 63, of Glasgow, was in the travel portion of the roadway as the SUV approached.  Rogerick Fields attempted to avoid striking the pedestrian but was unable to do so.  Paul Fields was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroners Office.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen. He was assisted at the scene by Barren County EMS, Cave City Police Department, Barren County Coroner, and KSP personnel.
