On November 12, 2020 at approximately 5:00 A.M. EST, KSP Post 4 received a call that two commercial vehicles and one passenger car had collided on I-65 near the 106-mile marker in Bullitt County. The preliminary investigation revealed, Charles Harrison, Jr of Nashville was operating a semi-tractor trailer and was attempting to merge from the on ramp onto northbound I-65 when a commercial box truck, also traveling north, struck the rear of the tractor-trailer. A passenger car, operated by Jason Kendrick of Lucedale, MS, attempted to avoid the stopped traffic by switching lanes before it struck the box truck in the rear.
Harrison was uninjured; Kendrick and his passenger were transported to Jewish South with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the box truck was air lifted to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injures. Northbound traffic on I-65 was detoured while the roadway was shut down for approximately five hours in order to allow troopers to investigate the collision.
